Tea Health Benefits
Scientific
studies have found that tea is rich in flavonoids, which in turn function as antioxidants.
The antioxidants neutralize the free radicals that can damage cells and lead to many
diseases such as cancer and heart disease. They have found that tea has a protective
capability against oral, lung, colon and other cancers. More and more research is showing
that drinking black, green and white tea, can lead to a long and healthy life.
Green Tea:
Antioxidants in green tea may prevent and
reduce the severity of rheumatoid arthritis, according to one
study from Case Western Reserve University's School of Medicine. Recent studies show that
green tea also has potent fat-burning properties. And according to an article from the
American Association for the Advancement of Science, green tea may help reduce
cardiovascular disease.

White Tea:
White tea is becoming more popular. It
contains many anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. White tea may prevent and/or
slow the growth of bacteria that cause Staphylococcus infections, Streptococcus
infections, pneumonia and dental caries. Read more here.
Research indicates that white tea boasts
the same types of cancer-fighting antioxidants as green tea, but in even greater amounts.

Black Tea:
The USDA recently stated that drinking
black tea may lower bad cholesterol levels and could one day be used to help reduce the
risk of heart disease. Read more here.
While studies show that black tea may lower
the risk of heart disease, more studies are showing the benefits of black tea in relation
to lowering the risk of cancer.
Black tea can relieve diarrhea, lower
cholesterol levels, and even help prevent tooth decay. For diarrhea, let the tea steep for
15 minutes before drinking.
Black tea has been shown to normalize blood
pressure, expand the airways of asthmatics, and has recently been shown to lower the risk
of lung cancer in light smokers.
